What are you reading/playing/watching right now? What do you like about it, and what do you dislike? Would you recommend whatever it is you're currently consuming?

Alternatively, if you're searching for recommendations, ask here! Whether you're in the mood for a feminist friendly science fiction read or a good survival horror game, other members of feminist_geeks can provide some suggestions.

I've been watching The Wire! Really great show. I'm also looking forward to seeing some movies this month, like Snow White and the Huntsman, Prometheus, and Brave. If anyone's seen/sees Snow White, what did you think?

for some reason I am plugging through Land of Painted Caves by Jean Auel because I hate myself? It reads like a really childish non-fiction book laced with occasional sex scenes. I love historical fiction/historical fantasy but like, come on.

Reading: City of Glass, by Cassandra Clare. I love the Infernal Devices books far more than they probably deserve, as something about the combination of Victorian London + hot mysterious guys + girl discovering her horrible powers and family secrets just works for me. It's like everything 16 year old me could have wanted in a series. So far I find the Mortal Instruments a bit meh. The characters seem to have less personality.

Also reading: a bunch of DC's New 52 titles. Wonder Woman is my clear favourite. It's pretty and the story is great and it's got the Greek gods in it! Did DC and Marvel come to some sort of agreement about who got Olympus and who got Asgard? I also read the first Dial H book last night and really enjoyed it. It was plain weird, in a good way, which was exactly what I expected when I saw China Mievielle's name on the cover.

I've been playing a lot of Okamiden lately because it is the cutest. It's what I love about Okami (which I've abandoned for FFX, but whatevs) with baby animals!

I have a huge stack of books I'm reading, mostly silly romance novels, which I have a terrible weakness for.

Working my way slowly through my Hugo voters packet, and have also purchased "How Much For Just The Planet" on the Kindle as light in-between reading so it doesn't start to feel homework-y.

Playing WoW, and fantasizing about buying a REALLY FANCY laptop to play it on; I've been stuck with a netbook as my only computer for months, I'm overdue. I have GOT to get something that'll do more than 13fps before Mists of Pandaria comes out. Anybody got some tips on what to get? I want something that'll look at WoW with all addons running and all settings on Ultra and LAUGH, plus the ability to handle a full install of some other new, shiny games. Thoughts?

Just finished The Kane Chronicles. Liked it, minus Sadie's romantic plot. Ugh, that was wanky.

Reading: Back issues of New Yorker. I JUST finished Dance with Dragons and am dying for George RR Martin to release the next book

Watching: Diners, Drive-ins and Dives

I took a jump back in time and have been playing Harvest Moon 64. Ah. nostalgia.

I just started Psychonauts, courtesy of the present Humble Indie Bundle. In no way did I expect to enjoy this as much as I am.

Reading: Bitterblue. Also, I'm on a comics kick, and I'm in love with Morning Glories and Natsume's Book of Friends.

Playing: Sims FreePlay, Heroes III

Watching: Daria. It's still perfect, all these years later.

Re-reading Native Tongue by Suzette Haden Elgin. Nice feminist sci-fi-ish series even if there are a couple of places where it's obviously a little dated. :)
